This Week at The Rock | It's All in the Approach

It's all in the approach...  Whether you're trying to fix something on your car, learn how to set a volleyball, make a cheesecake, or raise a child - expert auto mechanics, Olympic volleyball coaches, gourmet chefs, and seasoned parents alike will agree: success is invariably linked to the way you approach the task at hand!  (Go ahead, google the phrase, "It's all in the approach."  You'll find page after page of articles describing how this is true for topics ranging from architecture, to stress management, to winning the World Cup.)

Generally, people accept this to be true.  Whether we do it or not, we know that if we want to lose weight, we have to make a plan to eat better and exercise.  We know that if we want to retire, we have to set up budget to spend less and save more.   Our success relies on the way we prepare and how we use that preparation to change our approach. 

If we really believe that our success at any task relies on the way we approach it, should we be giving more consideration to the way we approach our relationship with God?  Do you have a plan for learning more about who God is?  Are you prepared to meet the need of a hurting person that God is planning to bring into your life?  Are you ready to rely on God for the selflessness you'll need to love your spouse and your family that way He wants you to?  Is this the first time you've thought about it in a long time?
